‘Bolo Bolo is an experimental solo project founded by Gamze Koba in BeyoÄŸlu, Istanbul in 2022. With Cevdet Alanbay joining the project in 2023, the band started to record their first compositions, which they define their style as ‘progressive punk’.
The lyrics, which stand out with their protest character, were written by Gamze Koba along with the lyrics, while the compositions, live recordings of all instruments, mixing and mastering were done by Cevdet Alanbay.
Bolo Bolo’s new summer 2025 single “No Fun!” screams “Grunge Alive” in every note.
The band drew inspiration for the track from the famous Japanese painter Yoshitomo Nara’s piece “No Fun!, In the Floating World” (1999).
Known for blending a wide range of genres, this time the band delivers its sound and emotions on a spectrum stretching from Seattle to Japan.
