7shock was founded in late 2020 in Istanbul by Cem Arda Altaç, Arda Akcan and Efe Miraç Tok, who came together under the umbrella of nu metal and alt-metal culture.

In fact, Cem and Arda's paths had crossed in late 2019, while they were still in high school; they had performed together at various events. This bond, which had been severed during the pandemic, was re-established towards the end of 2020, and the duo's shared passion for nu metal became the initial spark that gave birth to the band. In 2021, with the addition of vocalist Efe, the band began writing songs and recording demos. After drummer Emre Yenilmez joined, the line-up was complete, and 7shock began making strong strides on stage.

Defining their music as a blend of nu metal and hardcore, the band draws heavily from the nu metal movement of the 2000s and modern metal groups. Istanbul's chaotic atmosphere and direct witnessing of social events are reflected in their lyrics and harsh sound. 7shock displays a raw, aggressive and unfiltered attitude in their music, conveying both personal and collective anger and feelings of loss to the listener in a striking way.

The band met listeners with their first single, ‘From This World,’ released on 13 September 2024. Then, on 28 November 2024, they presented a dark narrative questioning social masks and hypocrisy with their second single, ‘Humanity Is A Lie,’ from their self-titled debut album.
