THE FIRST ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE-SUPPORTED SOUNDTRACK ALBUM IN HISTORY
The music of the film Post Truth marks a new milestone in music and cinema history as the first soundtrack album ever produced using an artificial intelligence-supported production process. Composed by Alkan Avcıoğlu for his internationally acclaimed feature-length documentary Post Truth, this album stands as an independent work that expands the film's conceptual framework through the language of music. Released on vinyl, CD, and digital formats, the album was made available to listeners on 19 December under the Tamar Records label.
Produced over a period of more than two years, the soundtrack, filtered from over a thousand AI-assisted compositions, directly constructs the fragmented perception of reality in our increasingly digital lives through the structure of sound itself. The album is positioned not only as a film score but also as an auditory map that records the workings, rhythm, and tension of the contemporary world. The track Dancing Plague, produced specifically for the film's much-discussed finale, stands out as a favourite among listeners, representing both the aesthetic and thematic aspects of the work.
The production of the album, which brings together a wide range of genres with a focus on electronic music, followed a multi-layered approach. At times, open-source artificial intelligence models were used, while at other times the artist's digital electronic ambient works from approximately twenty years ago were used directly as data input. Post Truth, which has also attracted attention for its music at festivals abroad, was nominated for Best Soundtrack at the 37th Girona Film Festival. The soundtrack, which has been well received by critics, is considered a powerful work that complements the conceptual framework of the film.
