Archura - CVNT (SAINT)

Named after the woodland spirit from Turkic mythology, Archura's music stands as a love letter to the iconic synths of the late 1970s and the 1980s, as well as his obsession with introspective self-confrontation.
With anthemic electronic pop hooks, enchanting swirling arpeggios, and a dark/melancholic soundscape, the Berlin-based singer, songwriter, and producer explores a raw, moody -and at times, sleazy- side of synth-driven pop music.
Inspiration from alternative powerhouses such as TR/ST, Austra, and iamamiwhoami, as well as household names like Björk and Robyn, is evident throughout Archura’s debut album and previous singles

PAGAN BY RELIGION is an introspective concept album that explores personal liberation through surrender, acceptance, and unwavering optimism. In addition to its high-BPM production, the lyrics and compositions are also by Archura.

CVNT (SAINT) is a sonic rebellion as much as it is a dark synthpop track, drawing inspiration from the melancholic depths of darkwave. The song is about letting go of one’s inhibitions and indulging in the utter exposure of putting out truly personal work, serving as a consecration of that raw, naked vulnerability.
The song deals with the toll that putting on a show or a facade for others’ enjoyment takes on one’s psyche. Anchored by hypnotic synth drums, the legendary Korg MS-20 carries the high-to-mid-tempo track with a dark, brooding bassline that sets the groove.

“I’ve gone through a spiritual experience with this album, but I wanted to create my own higher power to believe in, rather than being defined by someone else's.
