We’re Asimptot, a garage rock band from Izmir. Even though we take the stage in shirts and ties, the music we make is the complete opposite of “formal” style—think The Strokes, The Stooges, and The White Stripes.

It all started in January 2023, initiated by vocalist Çilek as an outlet for frustration and an escape from life. Since then, we’ve released 3 albums and 8 singles. Describing our style is tricky because it ranges from “the same riff for 3 minutes” to “prog rock with an 8-different-modulation 6/8 rhythm.” Although listeners often perceive us as laid-back types who don’t take our music seriously, we actually have a very rigorous work schedule behind the scenes. That’s why we gave our new album a slightly sarcastic title: “Beni Ciddiye Al (Take Me Seriously)”

The album’s concept is: ‘What if Asimptot had been a band making music since the 1960s?’ Although the tracks span such diverse genres and arrangements, none of them feel like a betrayal of the Asimptot sound. This isn’t a change; it’s an evolution.
