We are Asimptot, an Ä°zmir-based garage rock band. Although we wear shirts and ties to concerts, the music we make is the complete opposite of the ‘formal’ style. Like The Strokes, The Stooges, The White Stripes.

It began in January 2023 as a form of escapism and rebellion by vocalist Çilek. Since then, we've released three albums and eight singles. It's difficult to describe our songs precisely, as their style ranges widely from ‘the same riff for three minutes’ to ‘prog rock with eight different modulations and a 6/8 rhythm.’ But we can say that most of the songs are a bit ironic and sarcastic, not taking themselves too seriously.
Asimptot's new album (Ucubeler) is our answer to the question, ‘What happens if we combine classic garage rock sounds with other genres?’

Petrikor is the last song on the album, but it's the song that started it all. It draws inspiration from the Baroque Classical period, the psychedelic era, and various instruments. We can call it Asimptot's magnum opus.

The entire album was made in a 1+1 house, drinking plenty of coffee and cola, avoiding perfectionism so as not to disrupt the creative flow. Cleaning the house took so long...
