Kana Kana, who is currently working on their second album, continues to release surprise tracks, ensuring their listeners are never left in the lurch.
This time, the artist is back with an acoustic version of the single they released last month, which features a musical adaptation of Sabahattin Ali’s poem ‘İstek’.
Sabahattin Ali’s poem, which in a way recounts his own death, fits perfectly with Kana Kana’s dark storytelling style, given its distinctly gothic tone compared to the poet’s usual style and approach.
The reason the track is described as “Acoustic Live-Style” is that it was created in a single take, recorded layer upon layer. In this way, the arrangement retains the freshness of the moment it was conceived, whilst also sharing the chaos of the creative process with the listener in all its raw honesty.
The single’s cover art bears the signature of A.C. Levent, an Ankara-based specialist in dark arts and painter.
