Melted - Dés vu Cover.jpg

Melted creates music that is too wild for the naive and too naive for the wild—at least, that’s how we see it. We don’t place ourselves at one extreme, but this shouldn’t be seen as an unreachable, isolated position either. We love extreme metal just as much as we love deeply chill sounds. When we first started making music, we were influenced by bands like Fugazi, Sonic Youth, and Pixies. Now, we continue to build on that foundation with post-hardcore and noise rock bands such as The Jesus Lizard, Unwound, and Shellac.

We all love cinema, and that inevitably influences our music. Rather than surreal or fantastical films, we tend to gravitate toward stories that feel like a part of real life. That’s why, through our music, we try to capture the worn-down stones we’ve eroded together with the people flowing in the same river as us.

This piece explores the concept of Dés Vu—the feeling of seeing something again, yet it no longer holds any meaning. It captures the emotional void when encountering once-exciting things that now fail to evoke the same spark. The song reflects the sorrow of someone who realizes that everything they experience will eventually become just a memory—one that will inevitably fade away.

Musically, it blends the intricate creativity of math rock, the melancholia of post-hardcore, and the chaotic atmosphere of noise rock. Like a sudden downpour on a cloudy day that starts and ends without warning, the composition shifts form throughout its progression.
