Plastic Ideas is a shoegaze/dream pop trio formed in 2019. Having released three singles and a full-length album to date, the band invites its listeners to a dark and emotional journey with its second album Afterglow.

This album, which we started to hear from the summer of 2024, deals with modern disappointments, lost memories and inner contradictions with nostalgic melodies and intense atmospheric walls of sound.

The album, which was released at the end of February 2025 on Tamar Records, offers a minimalist post-punk aesthetic with clean guitar tones and creates a mesmerising atmosphere with the iconic fuzz and reverb textures of shoegaze.

 

Afterglow tells a story of 8 songs. At times the album questions the past with clear and melancholic tones, and at other times it offers explosive energy with soaring distortion. The band shaped the lyrics and music of each song together, which gives the album a collective sincerity and integrity. The emotional intensity of the album oscillates between serenity and chaos, offering the listener an unforgettable experience.

 

The album cover perfectly reflects the overall theme of Afterglow. A blurred guitar image in purple and pink tones references both the nostalgic and energetic atmosphere of the album. Afterglow reinterprets the shoegaze and post-punk spirit of the 80s and 90s with a modern touch, once again taking the listener on a journey between reality and imagination. You are invited to get lost in the timbres and find yourself in the whispered lyrics and echoing riffs.
