Sren, who has recently come to the forefront in Istanbul's alternative scene, met with the audience on 16 May on Tamar Records with his debut album BaÅŸka Bir Hayat Mümkün (Another Life is Possible), which feeds on shoegaze, dream pop and indie rock. Combining melancholy with hope, inner dissolution with starting over, the album offers a nine-track journey.

The album was recorded and produced in the band's own studio with an independent approach,

It reflects Sren's collective creative power and unique sonic world.

Travelling in the waters of shoegaze, post-rock and dream pop, the band builds its own emotional universe with a calm yet deeply moving language. Intertwining melancholy and hope, darkness and light, their songs invite the listener not only to listen, but also to feel, to confront, and perhaps to look inward. This world, which was signalled with the previously shared singles ‘Bozuk’, ‘DüÅŸerken’ and ‘Yalnızız’, now turns into a complete narrative consisting of nine tracks.

The entire album was recorded at Kısmet Studios in Istanbul, in the band's own production space. With the belief in independent music production, the production process of the album was carried out entirely by the band members. Shaped by the collective contributions of Kaan Bilgin (guitar), Mert Berkay Saraç (bass, synth/keyboards), Ozan KöseoÄŸlu (drums, sampler) and Öykü Birce BoyoÄŸlu on vocals, this production has a sincere and unique structure in terms of both content and process. The mixing process of the album was entrusted to Alp Turaç and mastering to Bryan Shortell.

The sound world of the album is woven with layered guitars, atmospheric effects and deep drum lines. This structure, which is enriched with synth touches from time to time, offers an organic flow open to emotional transitions. In the lyrics, a questioning, fragile yet healing voice is heard. Alienation, loss, inner dissolution and the hope of starting over resonate with a different tone in each track.

BaÅŸka Bir Hayat Mümkün establishes a language that transitions between genres. From the hazy intensity of shoegaze to the sincerity of dream pop, from the energy of indie rock to the harsh transitions that occasionally approach blackgaze, this journey is both stylistically and emotionally diverse.

The album takes its title from a song lyric and in this respect, it multiplies the meaning it carries: It reminds us that against the harshness of the existing order, there may be another possibility, even if it is small. Sren's debut album is not only a musical expression, but also a collective call to live, feel and dream together.

BaÅŸka Bir Hayat Mümkün is a sincere and new voice in the alternative scene, carrying the power of independent production and the impact of multi-layered narrative.
